“Ducks Fly together” “Strength in Numbers” “Tougher Together”

These are the mantras that the University of Oregon Track & Field team are motivated by. I used these as inspiration when designing their 2022 Track & Field uniforms. A duck’s greatest innovation is flight. Their feather composition allows them to fly faster, and as a flock, ducks reach pinnacle heights together, which gives them ultimate strength. I started my design with the duck icon that is already used around the Oregon campus, and then created a visually graphic fade to mimic the way that ducks start their flight pattern into the sky. My color inspiration came from the shades of green used for the stadium seats in the newly designed Hayward Field where the 2022 uniforms made their debut.
